Frequently Asked Questions
To join our lab as a graduate student, you should first apply to the relevant program at McGill University (Physiology, Neuroscience, or Quantitative Life Sciences). In your application, mention your interest in our lab. You can also contact Prof. Khadra directly with your CV, academic transcripts, and a statement of your research interests.
Yes, we regularly host undergraduate students for research projects. These can be part of formal programs like NSERC USRA, McGill's SURA program, or course-based research projects (e.g., PHGY 396). Contact us with your CV and research interests to discuss opportunities.
Our lab primarily uses Python and MATLAB for modeling and data analysis. We also use XPPAUT or AUTO for some projects, particularly those involving bifurcation analysis. Familiarity with a programming language is helpful, but we can provide training as needed for motivated students.
While a background in mathematics, physics, computer science, or engineering can be helpful, we welcome students from diverse backgrounds who are motivated to learn. Strong analytical skills and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research are more important than specific prior knowledge.
